Where to look for Fossils at Wangford Quarry?

(Norwich Crag Shell Beds) - 2002

The area you need to look is the North end of the quarry which is now disused. There is a large pool of water in the middle with cliffs of shell beds around the outside. Search in the weathered cliff face by scanning across each layer with your eyes, this often yields mammal remains that have been exposed by the wind and rain or any particular mollusc you are after, then take back samples and sieves at home. You are by far more likely to find fossils by sieving.
